MALAYSIAN GROUP'S NORWEST CONCEPT
$15M outdoor plaza
MALAYSIAN conglomerate Mulpha, the developer of the Norwest Business Park, proposes a $15 million concept plan for a 30-hectare parcel of land currently home to the Norwest Private Hospital, Quest Serviced Apartments and Circa Shopping Centre. It has the potential to deliver more than 450,000 square metres of floor space and more than 25,000 jobs. The precinct would comprise a central outdoor plaza and commercial core of office buildings with ground floor shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.
GROWTH DRIVES CASTLE TOWERS UPGRADE
$20 million upgrade
THE $20 million upgrade of the Castle Towers shopping centre will transform the centre into an urban shopping, entertainment and leisure hub, which will increase the centre’s size by up to 80,000 square metres, in response to population growth in the region.
TRAFFIC CONCERNS STOP COMPLEX
$40m plan refused
UNREASONABLE traffic safety, land-use conflict and inadequate parking have led to the refusal of a $40 million entertainment facility proposed for an industrial complex at McGraths Hill, by a private entertainment group, represented by local planning group, Montgomery Planning Solutions.
ENDEAVOUR ENERGY PLANS UPGRADE
$15m investment
ENDEAVOUR Energy plans to invest $15 million on upgrading the power supply to Schofields and Marsden Park. The plans propose the construction of a new 132kV power line to supply electricity to the Marsden Park industrial precinct and surrounding areas.
GLOBAL RESEARCH CENTRE AT DEAKIN
New R&D centre
ADVANCED manufacturing company Quickstep Holdings, at Bankstown Airport, has established a global research and development centre at Deakin University. The centre will manage ongoing development of all Quickstep technologies and intellectual property, supporting the company's aerospace and automotive facilities in Australia and Germany. R&D activity currently undertaken at Quickstep's Munich facility will be relocated to the centre.
MODIFICATIONS FOR ROSEHILL RACECOURSE
$4.8 million plan
PROPOSED modifications costing $4.8 million to the JR Fleming Grand Stand, at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, include construction of a bridge link between Level 1 and the Grandstand seating, installation of a new betting ring enclosure, construction of a new entrance portal and alterations to the Ascot restaurant.a
