CASTLE HILL CAFES

Red tape reduced for Main Street

TWO new measures approved recently by Hills Shire Council will make Castle Hill Main Street a more attractive and desirable place to open and run a café or restaurant.

Passed separately, the measures relate to the relaxing of parking provisions for Main Street restaurants and cafés and the extension of the free licence period for outdoor dining areas by a further three years.

“Castle Hill Town Centre has undergone a transformation over the last few years and that process will continue,” Mayor Jefferies said.

“We are seeing a more vibrant café and small bar culture emerge on Main Street. Over the last few years exciting new operators like The Baron, Youeni, Cosmo, EmptyGlass, Raw 101 and Enigma have established themselves on Main Street alongside existing operators.”

“Later this year, the Pocket Bar Group will bring Crooked Tailor to Main Street. They’ve set up several small restaurants and bars in Sydney’s CBD, Central Coast and even Paris.”

“I want to see the Castle Hill Main Street become a major dining destination that attracts visitors to The Hills and helps to grow our local economy. I want to see a vibrant, active and attractive Castle Hill Main Street, that will help grow our night time economy and contribute to a better quality of life.”

“The measures Council has taken to remove red-tape for local hospitality businesses are specifically aimed at opening up the Main Street to more cafe and dining options over the next few years."
