The optrions are aimed at better organising the precinct and establish it as the heart of Riverstone.
The Riverstone Town Centre plays a key role in the ongoing future growth and development of Blacktown City.
The Riverstone area is expected to be home to an additional 9,000 people over the next 20 years.
A large amount of this growth will be concentrated within and around the Town Centre itself, so it’s important to have adequate social and community facilities which cater for this growth.
The draft masterplan will help guide decisions by Council and the NSW government, private investors and other stakeholders, so that we can better support the growing local economy and improve retail offerings in the area.
Council wants the Riverstone Town Centre to be a place where people can interact and connect.
The masterplan aims to create a thriving, economically viable, well-designed and safe town centre that preserves Riverstone’s unique character and semi-rural roots.
Each of the four design options creates a sense of place, retaining elements of the Town Centre’s cultural heritage, and enhancing footpaths to make walking and cycling around the precinct a more pleasant experience.
Council is calling on residents to provide their general feedback on the Riverstone Town Centre draft masterplan. Which design option do they believe is best suited to Riverstone’s future growth, while reflecting its unique character?
The Riverstone Town Centre draft masterplan will be on public exhibition until Friday, September 30, 2016. Members of the community can view the masterplan at Council chambers, Riverstone Library or Riverstone Marketown, and submit their thoughts at:
