The external signs, located on the eastern and northern facades of the Stadium, were switched on by Bankwest’s Executive General Manager of Customer Experience Andrew Chanmugam ahead of the first night-time NRL game at the venue – Parramatta Eels v Penrith Panthers.
The external lighting of the signs was complemented by Bankwest Stadium’s integrated lighting technology inside the venue, featuring 260 LED sports lights in the roof and 360-degree LED ribbon screens.
Bankwest was announced as naming rights partner for the Stadium in December 2018 after a seven-year partnership was sealed between the company and Venues NSW, the NSW government agency that oversees Bankwest Stadium.
Mr Chunmugam said: “Fans who attended the NRL game between Western Sydney arch-rivals the Parramatta Eels and Penrith Panthers on Thursday evening (23 May) saw the new external signs on Bankwest Stadium illuminated for the first time.
“Bankwest was thrilled to support this critical piece of community infrastructure in the vibrant, diverse and growing corridor of Western Sydney and seeing the Bankwest Stadium signs light up on the building for the first time will be a special moment.
“The Bankwest Stadium partnership sends a clear message to the people of Western Sydney that we’ll continue to invest in products and services that meet their needs.
“Our vision is to deliver amazing customer experiences that matter, which is strongly aligned to the vision of this stadium ‘to empower world-class fan experiences’.”
Bankwest Stadium CEO Daryl Kerry said the switching on of the external signs at the Stadium was another important step on the journey of bringing to life the venue that sets a new benchmark for the event experience in Australia.
“The Stadium and its precinct continue to evolve and on Thursday night we saw the new Bankwest Stadium external signage illuminated for the first time, Mr Kerry said.
The Stadium has been hailed as a game-changer for sport in Western Sydney, with almost 100,000 fans and visitors already passing through the turnstiles for a series of sport, business and community events.
