Taking place at Deloitte’s Western Sydney office in Parramatta on October 3 from 9.30-11.30am, this is the third consecutive year that Deloitte has hosted the Think.Business Forum, part of its support of the annual Parramasala cultural festival.
The title of this year’s event is Think 2013 ‘Western Sydney – Workplace of the Future’. Dr Geoffrey Lee MP, Member for Parramatta will open the Forum and Chris Richardson from Deloitte Access Economics will provide a perspective on the economic outlook for Western Sydney.
Following these opening addresses there will be an interactive panel debate featuring Damian Borchok CEO of Interbrand, Deloitte talent and recruitment leader, Tanyth Lloyd and University of Western Sydney’s Dr Paul Rowland who will discuss how to enhance the brand of Western Sydney as a place to work, live and play.
The panel debate, moderated by David Borger Western Sydney Director, Sydney Business Chamber, will also examine some of the key challenges facing the region as a destination for business and commerce, and the strategies that may help it to achieve its full potential.
Managing partner of Deloitte’s Western Sydney office, Danny Rezek who will host the event, said: “Western Sydney is the growth centre for NSW, the region outpaced the rest of Sydney and had twice the growth of the rest of NSW. In 2011, the population of Western Sydney was just over two million and by 2036 it is forecast to reach three million according to NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure projections.”
“As a firm we plan to double the size of our Parramatta office in the next couple of years so we have a vested interest in helping to ensure Western Sydney is a magnet for the best performing talent in the market.”
“After 30 years in Western Sydney, Deloitte is proud to be the catalyst to challenge some of the thinking that may inhibit collaboration and ensure the best outcomes for a stronger and more vibrant Western Sydney brand,” said Mr Rezek. \
Parramasala is a festival celebrating the global impact of South Asian arts and cultures. The Think Business Forum takes this theme by transcending the South Asian influence from arts through to business.
The Think.Business Forum takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am at Deloitte’s Parramatta office on Thursday 3 October 2013, followed by networking morning tea hosted by Destination NSW. To register and find out more, visit: http://landing.deloitte.com.au/TBF2013_Rego.html
