Managed by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce (PCC), the WSABE launch event attracted about 80 guests that included partners, sponsors and past winners.
The WSABEs showcase and celebrate the strength, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of businesses in the Greater Western Sydney region.
The Premier, who is also Minister for Western Sydney, recognised the region’s unique attributes and contribution to the State’s economy.
“The Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence play a vital role in highlighting the significant achievements of Western Sydney’s leading businesses,” he said.
“Western Sydney continues to be one of Australia’s fastest growing and most exciting regional economies. As Premier and Minister for Western Sydney I am committed to improving local infrastructure that will make a real difference to the lives of people.”
Awards Chairman, Alan Cadman OAM, said: “We are delighted that Premier O’Farrell launched this year’s awards; it is a fitting recognition of the importance of the Western Sydney region.”
Each year the WSABEs uncover outstanding and innovative companies that are responsible for generating millions of dollars of investment in the region. Award winners receive significant exposure and recognition.
“The awards program pays tribute to the businesses whose contributions are so vital to Western Sydney, propelling the continued economic prosperity of the region which, as a key growth region in NSW with over 1.9 million people, it is the home to more than one in 11 Australians,” says PCC President, Roger Byrne.
Also present and supporting the event were the Lord Mayor of Parramatta, John Chedid, Federal Member, Julie Owens MP, State Member, Dr Geoff Lee, Senator Marise Payne's representative, Clr Michael Creed and Tony Dormer, President NSWBC.
