It is the saddest story we have ever featured in Access News, yet it has led to a an event of hope which will raise critical funds to support parents in a similar situation.
On what would have been baby Poppy’s second birthday, Adam is holding a 24 hour cycle fundraiser at his Repetitions Gym in Rouse Hill.
“Our aim is to raise money and awareness for families who have lost their little ones or for those who have had infertility issues,” Adam said.
“We are raising money for the Bears of Hope who provide support for grieving families and supply cuddle cots to families so they can spend some precious moments with their babies.
“We have 80 riders who will be working in teams of five and riding from this Saturday March 12 at 10.30am until Sunday March 13 at 10.30am.”
He said each rider would need to ride for four hours and 45 minutes over a 24 hour period.
“Our goal was to raise $6500 which would be enough to fund one cuddle cot. This allows a family to be able to spend some time with their baby.”
“We have now smashed this goal as you can see from the fundraising page below.“
Access News will have a follow up story in our next print edition in April.
