GARAGE SALE TRAIL

Fun day of buying and selling

HOUSEHOLDS, schools and community groups are invited to join hundreds of thousands of Australians across the country on Saturday, October 25 by taking part in the Garage Sale Trail.

Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Kim Ford, has welcomed the involvement of Council and the unique opportunity Garage Sale Trail provides local residents and organisations in the Hawkesbury

“Council is proud to be supporting Garage Sale Trail, for a second year, in 2014. The event promotes positive community connections and provides a novel way for residents to reduce waste and make money,” Councillor Ford said.

“While the Garage Sale Trail generates local economic activity and provides residents with a fun day of buying, selling and connecting with local people, the event aims to reduce waste and reuse items which otherwise might end up in landfill is a very important one.”

Residents are encouraged to join in the fun of the Garage Sale Trail by either hosting their own garage sale or visiting some in their neighbourhood.

Register to be a part of the 2014 Garage Sale Trail at www.garagesaletrail.com.au. Hosts can be as creative as they like to encourage buyers to attend their sales.

Now in its fourth year, the Garage Sale Trail is supported by over 120 councils nationally and is expecting up to 10,000 garage sales across the country with over 1.5 million items for sale.
