THE Sydney Hills Small Business Exchange Expo to be held on March 11 at Norwest Business Park aims to assist businesses deal with challenges of running and owning a business.

Hills Shire Mayor Cr Andrew Jefferies has encouraged Hills small businesses to get on board. He says the Expo is about answering a variety of questions that businesses may have in one place.

“This Exchange will help our small businesses to have many complex legal and compliance questions answered, all at no charge. This kind of advice will be a real help for our smaller enterprises,” Mayor Jefferies said.

The Exchange will allow business owners to have 15 minute appointments with the agencies and organisations of their choice, including the Australian Taxation Office, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, the NSW Small Business Commissioner’s office and many more.

Questions can relate to changing superannuation laws, human resource rights and awards, financial planning, software design, marketing tools, online resources for business and business mentoring.

In addition, business owners will be able to attend informative and practical workshops while networking with other small business owners located in the Sydney Hills.

“97% of all Sydney Hills businesses are classified as small and the Exchange will really help them get ahead in 2015.”

Organisations that are committed to this new initiative have put their support behind it to make sure it gets to all the small businesses in the area.”

The event is sponsored by Crowe Horwath and 360 HR and the expo support partners Small Biz Connect and NSW Trade and Investment. Council hopes to develop the Expo into an annual event.

“I look forward to opening this event with NSW Small Business Commissioner Robyn Hobbs on Wednesday, March 11.”
