The works include installation of new footpaths, seating, landscaping, signage and banner poles.
Hills Mayor Michelle Byrne said the upgrade wouldn’t be without its disruptions, but thanked residents, workers, shoppers and business owners for their patience.
“Council’s vision for Baulkham Hills Town Centre is to see it as a centre of residential, commercial and retail activity. It’s already one of our most frequented town centres, home to a major bus interchange and the site of increased residential development,” she said.
“Council wants to work with developers to achieve this vision, but we’re also doing our part by upgrading the streetscape and public domain.”
Pathway upgrades were scheduled to occur generally between 9pm – 6am to minimise disruption to businesses.
There will be some works occurring during normal business hours but where possible, we work will be conducted at night so to minimise disruption and make sure businesses can trade as close to normal as possible.
There will be temporary changes to pedestrian and vehicle access and some minor travel delays and parking changes.
