The survey recorded and identified NSW as the "clear outperformer in trend terms", marking a 46th consecutive month of positive business conditions for the state.
Acting Treasurer Victor Dominello said the survey showed businesses were keen to invest for the future and create new opportunities for the people who live and work here. Strong business sentiment was also recorded in other states during the month of December.
“Since we came to Government in 2011, we have done everything in our power to create the best conditions for the businesses and workers of NSW to thrive - this survey shows our efforts are paying off and the future of our state is brighter than ever,” Mr Dominello said.
“Our historic $80 billion infrastructure program is giving businesses the confidence they need to invest in the future, and that will continue to drive employment growth and enhance productivity right across NSW.”
NAB’s business conditions index measures the hiring intentions, profitability, and sales activity of businesses.
NSW was also ranked the top economy in the nation for a 14th straight quarter in CommSec’s State of the States, released yesterday.
