STATE OF THE CITY 2018

Record audience for marquee event
THE annual State of the City (SOTC) Address was held at the Parramatta Parkroyal in March.

A record audience of 245 guests attended this year’s marquee event.

Hosted by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, the event was a sell-out. The SOTC provides a platform to update the business community on plans for Parramatta.

This year’s theme was what Parramatta will look like ‘Beyond the Construction Zone’.

This year’s MC was Chris Bath, Australian media personality. Keynote speaker was Mark McCrindle, who shared valuable insights as a social researcher about trends and their impacts on Parramatta and its future.

Other guest speakers included, Cllr Andrew Wilson, Lord Mayor of Parramatta, David Hill, President of Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, David Borger, Director, Sydney Business Chamber – West and Angela Haynes, Director at KPMG.

The audience had the opportunity to directly put their questions, comments and concerns to The Panel who consisted of the above speakers, facilitated by Chris Bath.

Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, thanks their major sponsor, Walker Corporation, who is delivering Parramatta one of the largest urban renewal projects in the country with the $2.7B Parramatta Square redevelopment which will revitalise the city centre.

Special thanks also to support sponsor Macquarie Bank and to event partners - City of Parramatta and Sydney Business Chamber - West, as well as MBE Parramatta.
