Minister for Finance, Services and Property and Member for Ryde Victor Dominello said that once the new education precinct is completed the current Meadowbank Primary School site would be converted to open space for the public.
The Meadowbank TAFE site will continue to operate as part of the education precinct.
“As more and more families call Ryde home, it is critical that we deliver on the necessary amenities including open space,” Mr Dominello said.
Minister for Education Rob Stokes said that the new education precinct is one of more than 120 projects to be funded by the NSW Government over the next four years.
Early designs for the new education precinct will be provided in the next couple of months. The community will be consulted on this.
The precinct will accommodate up to 1000 primary school students and will cater for the needs of local students into the future. Construction is due to start later this year and completed in 2021.
