ELIGIBLE YEAR 12 STUDENTS TO GET VACCINATED

At Qudos Bank Arena Vaccination Centre
THOUSANDAS of Year 12 students in western and south-western Sydney hotspots will be offered COVID-19 vaccinations at Qudos Bank Arena from Monday, ensuring they can sit their Higher School Certificate exams safely.
Every eligible student will receive an online link to book into the NSW Health mass vaccination hub for one of the 24,000 first-dose Pfizer vaccination appointments available between August 9 and 14.

Students are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination if they are sitting the Higher School Certificate (HSC) this year (or otherwise completing year 12 in 2021) and attend school or live in one of the eight Local Government Areas (LGAs) of concern.

The LGAs of concern are Liverpool, Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown, Cumberland, Parramatta, Blacktown, Georges River and Campbelltown.

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) chief executive Graeme Loy encouraged all eligible HSC students to book in for an appointment next week.

“This is a very important opportunity for all Year 12 students in the areas of concern to get vaxxed and guard against the spread of COVID-19,” Mr Loy said.

“Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to ensure this incredible centre was established as quickly and safely as possible – this will mean more young people get protected against COVID-19 much sooner and well before exam time.”

The centre will have capacity to administer approximately 4,000 vaccinations per day, subject to students coming forward.

The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 4,316,065, with 1,636,730 doses administered by NSW Health to 8pm last night and 2,679,335 administered by the GP network and other providers to 11.59pm on Thursday, August 5 2021.

Students can call the NSW Health Qudos Bank Arena Vaccination Centre on 1800 922 886 for more information.
