Transport for NSW Executive Director Customer Journey Planning Adam Berry said public transport was the most convenient option to go and cheer on the Blues.
“Leave the car at home and catch public transport – we’ll have plenty of trains and major event buses running to and from Sydney Olympic Park,” Mr Berry said.
“Travel on all modes of public transport is included in your ticket to the match – just show your ticket to transport staff when boarding services, and remember, face masks are mandatory on public transport and in public transport waiting areas.”
Additional express trains will run from Central to Olympic Park from late afternoon, while return services will run frequently after the match. Additional trains will also run from Western Line stations to Olympic Park, while there will be frequent trains between Lidcombe and Olympic Park until late.
Sydney Olympic Park major event buses will run starting between 3:10pm and 4pm, depending on the route. Buses will also run frequently after the match until 11:15pm to get customers home.
“We encourage spectators to arrive early and enjoy the pre-game atmosphere in the precinct. Public transport and roads are typically becoming busier on weekdays as commuters return to workplaces so allow extra travel time,” Mr Berry said.
“If driving is your only option, pre-book your parking online, car pool and aim to arrive early because traffic will be heavy during the evening peak.”
Stadium gates open at 5pm. The exhibition game starts at 5:15pm and pre-game entertainment from 7:35pm, then kick-off at 8.10pm. The match ends about 10pm.
