Joe Simiana and a film crew spent the scary nights in the Roxy last year while filming Australia’s Most Haunted, a TV series set for release next year.
There they encountered ghosts, which had Mr Simiana’s hair stand on end.
“I didn’t believe it myself but after each day spending the night alone things got hairy,” Mr Simiana said.
“The evidence we got, and from speaking to people who had worked there and experienced the ghosts, I know there are ghosts there.”
Beyond mentioning two girls and a man who roam the theatre at night, Mr Simiana does not want to reveal any more detail before the release of Australia’s Most Haunted.
But the story of “Jack”, a malevolent spirit that claims to be the Roxy’s owner is the stuff of legends.
Despite his hair-raising experience, Mr Simiana said he would love to spend another night in the Roxy.
“Staff have gone on record and camera for AMH and tell of their personal unexplained happenings and face to face encounters with the Roxy ghosts some reports as little as a few months ago,” he said.
Mr Simiana said he was upset at the state of the Roxy and hope it was restored. No doubt, so does “Jack”.
