Michael Mekhitarian is founding partner at ATB Accountants.
“This is an honor for me, and an important chance to give back to the business community that has supported ATB Partners since we first opened our doors nearly 30 years ago,” says Michael.
The Western Sydney Regional Advisory Council (RAC) is a committee that is part of the Business NSW’s state-wide network.
Business NSW was formerly The NSW Business Chamber and is is the peak pro-business organization in NSW.
The RAC meets regularly to raise concepts that will lead to innovative projects and programs that improve and sustain business performance in the region.
The RAC is also responsible for highlighting issues that are affecting business in the region and having these escalated to the Business NSW.
“As the peak body, Business NSW advocates for the needs of businesses to key decision makers at local, state and federal government levels and also the media,” said Michael.
“Essentially, each of the RAC’s throughout New South Wales play a vital role in being a conduit of communication between what’s happening at a grassroots level in business, and those in positions of authority who are making decisions.
“Ultimately, it leads to greater cooperation between government and business,” said Michael.
“This is a role I’m excited to be taking on, particularly as business faces the very challenging times ahead moving forward with Covid-19.”
Michael is a Business NSW councilor and sits on their economic planning committee. He is also past president of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and past Vice President of the Regional Advisory Committee for Western Sydney.
