Mark Bouris is one of Australia's most respected businessmen and his credentials speak miles for the success he has achieved throughout his career.
Mark is known for building disruptive businesses that challenge the market and deliver smarter solutions for consumers.
His latest venture, Yellow Brick Road, is a company he created in order to bring quality financial advice to every Australian.
Mark shared his passion for building and sustaining business highlighted with some interesting experiences setting up and turning businesses into successful enterprises.
These included a meeting with Kerry Packer prior to a $25 million investment into his business, Wizard Home Loans: “He asked me three questions, the first was ‘what business are you in’ to which I answered Wizard Home Loans of course” says Mark. “You’re wrong son,” replied Kerry, “You’re in the business of hopes and dreams”.
Mark said the other two questions asked of him were, ‘have you ever failed in business?’ and ‘who is your customer?’.

• If you can’t control it you need to understand it.
• You need strong virtues – hard working and the courage to back yourself.
• Integrity – don’t let people walk over you.
• Be a leader and people will follow.
• Good manners – be nice and don’t lose your temper.
