Professor Barney Glover (pictured), a graduate of the University of Melbourne, has been at the helm of CDU for four years.
“UWS has for many years enjoyed the leadership of one of Australia’s great vice-chancellors, Janice Reid,” said UWS Chancellor, Professor Peter Shergold.
“Now Barney Glover, who shares our vision of UWS as a high quality but open institution, will oversight our continuing growth and development,”
Professor Glover said building on the “extraordinary” legacy of Professor Reid would be both daunting and exciting.
“Professor Glover is an accomplished leader who exemplifies the values that are at the heart of this fine university and has the knowledge and experience to lead UWS in the next phase of its development,” Professor Reid said.
Professor Glover, who had an academic career in mathematics,” was deputy vice-chancellor at Newcastle before heading to CDU.
Professor Glover will formally take the position on January 1, 2014.
