CCTV surveillance for Liverpool CBD?

LIVERPOOL Council is inviting interested businesses, residents and community members to participate in a community meeting on October 22 to explore options for the proposed installation and ongoing use of Closed Circuit television (CCTV) in the City Centre.

Liverpool City Council, general manager, Farooq Portelli said local businesses and the wider community are welcome to discuss their ideas with Council and help shape the future rollout of this important strategy.

“An independent consultant will discuss options of CCTV requirements and how businesses can participate in the implementation process as well as answer any relevant questions that may be asked,” Mr Portelli said.

“Liverpool City Council is committed to making Liverpool a safer place for its residents and business community.

“Should business owners or residents have any ideas or concerns in relation to CCTV please come along and share your thoughts with us.”

Anyone interested in attending the meeting should contact Council’s Community Services Team on 9821 8847.
