Not all bras are equal

By Maria Silvestri

I WOULD like to introduce myself to all the readers of Western Sydney Business Access.

My name is Maria Silvestri and I am the owner of a business called Heavenly Curves, a bricks and mortar retail business in Sydney’s Western Suburbs at Wetherill Park.

We also have an online store www.heavenlycurves.com.au Our business is bras/lingerie/swimwear and accessories, we have specialist bra fitters in store and a range of bras  from band sizes 6-26  and varying cups from D thru to K.

Bras come in different sizes and styles, just as us women come in different sizes and shapes as well, so as specialist fitters we fit your bra to your body.

Most bra manufacturers are quote statistics like nine out of 10 women are in the wrong size bras which causes back, neck and shoulder pain.

Bras are not an accessory they are a necessity not only for our health but also for how our clothes look, and how you feel.

Here are five hints to check and see if you could be wearing the incorrect bra size. Does your bra:

1.    Ride up your back or ride down your back?
2.    Is the front gore of the bra sitting flat against your chest in between your breasts?
3.    Do your underwires sit flat against your chest under the breasts?
4.    Or do you fall out the bottom of the cups?
5.    Do you have shoulder, neck or back pain this could be from an incorrectly fitted bra, or it could be one that you have had for a while?

If you find yourself saying yes to any of the above questions, then I suggest you make some time for yourself to be fitted soon.

Our range also includes swimwear, sexy and sensible lingerie, sleepwear, maternity bras, bridal corsette’s, shape wear and much more.

I am also an Accredited Amoena Breast Prosthesis Fitter for women who have lost a breast or breasts from breast cancer.

We have a range of bras, swimwear and active wear to suit as well.  We also provide an extra service where we can have pockets sewn in on other items in our store as well.

Over the next few months I will be bringing you more hints and tips on bras and also some stories of other Women in Business just like me that are passionate about what they do.

I’ll be asking them why they started their business weather it was a need or a niche - true stories of everyday mums, wife’s, sisters, daughters that are in business today and I hope you come along for the read.

Drop me a note if you have any suggestions for stories or comments: maria@heavenlycurves.com.au
