The system makes it easier for homeowners and builders to lodge complying development applications electronically under the NSW Housing Code.
Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr John Chedid said the new EHC system would speed up the planning process.
“This system means builders, homeowners and renovators can have their plans submitted at the click of a mouse,” Cr Chedid said.
By entering details of a property, users will be able to see what kind of developments are allowed on a property and generate reports and monitor the progress of their application.
“The EHC system is intuitive and easy to use and will enable users to inquire about the development options available to them quickly and at any time of the day - there is now no need for people to visit a Council in person,” Cr Chedid said.
“It will also help simplify enquiries for our customer support staff as they will be better equipped to answer customer queries.
Other handy features include the printable report tool, help portal with frequently asked questions and the ability to check planning rules across multiple council areas, which is a great feature for owners who manage properties in different areas.”
