PETROL HEADS PARADISE

Life In The Fast Lane event

RACING cars doing live demo’s on the race track, one of the world’s rarest supercars (the McLaren MP4-12C), the new Porsche pursuit car for the NSW Police Force, a jet powered remote car and race car simulators.

These are just some of the highlights awaiting car fans in Sydney’s west.

Sydney Motorsport Park will be a petrol head paradise on the evening of Wednesday, November 19 when Jesus Racing presents its annual Life In The Fast Lane event.

The host is full time racing driver Andrew “Fishtail” Fisher who is a veteran of the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series and now competes in the Touring Car Masters championship.

His brightly coloured Falcon FG V8 ute and Falcon XY GT are well known to motor sport spectators.

Fishtail competed at the Castrol Edge Gold Coast 600 recently where he won one of the races and he will be in action at the Sydney 500 at Homebush in December.

Life In The Fast Lane also includes a display of race cars, helicopter, entertainment, hot food and a chance for the public to meet Fishtail who is the current holder of the prestigious Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Service Star and of the Piston Cup, the top award presented by the Australian V8 Ute Racing Series.

He received these in recognition of the amazing community work that he fits in between race days.

Fishtail donates 200 days each year to visit young people in high schools and correctional centres and challenge them about their future.

"I really enjoy my motor racing but speaking to young people is a real privilege. To date I have spoken to more than 250,000 young people across Australia,” he said.

“I don't pull any punches. We are not there to tell them what to do or not do but we do want them to consider the consequences of their decisions in areas such as taking drugs, teenage sex, smoking, cyberspace and road safety.

“It's all about showing them how to make good decisions in the future. You can tell from the expressions on their faces that they understand what I'm talking about. I take my road going version of the race ute which is always a big attraction the students. They love it when I rev the engine.”

Life In The Fast Lane is a men’s only event (for aged 14 and over). Tickets are $50 for 2 so people can bring a child or friend and include dinner and drink. They are available at www.jesusracing.com.au
